At Mazuma Credit Union, the security of our Members’ financial information and accounts is our top priority. 

As your trusted financial partner, we closely monitor the evolving risks our Members face in today’s digital world – from phishing and social engineering scams to identity fraud, cybersecurity threats, and beyond - and employ best in class technologies to protect your safety.

We remind Members to always exercise caution when contacted by anyone asking for personal information.

Mazuma Credit Union will never call, text, or email you asking for personally identifiable information (social security numbers, secure access codes, passwords/pin numbers, card numbers, or account numbers) or instruct you to send money through a third-party vendor (PayPal, Venmo, etc.).

Enhanced Account Security

Mazuma goes the extra mile to protect you!
  • Deposit Insurance: Deposits are federally insured by the National Credit Union Association (NCUA) up to $250,000. No one has lost a penny of insured deposits at a federally insured credit union.
  • Zero Liability Protection: If your card is lost or stolen, you may not be liable for fraudulent card transactions.
  • Fraud Monitoring and Prevention: With 24/7 monitoring of all card transactions 365 days a year, we review how and where your card is being used and will block potential fraud if abnormal patterns are detected. If fraud is detected, we may contact you by automated phone calls to confirm or deny fraud. The call will also give the option of speaking to a live fraud analyst.
    • Remember: Our messages will never ask for your PIN or account number.
    • Want to verify if the call you received is really from Mazuma? The phone number for our Fraud Center is 1-888-918-7313.
  • Secure Account Access: When accessing your account, you’re protected by these security features:
    • Enhanced Login Security allows us to confirm you are the true owner of your account by recognizing not only your login information but also your computer. If we don't recognize your computer, you will be required to enter a One-Time Passcode sent to your email or telephone to ensure authorized access.
    • Advanced encryption technology prevents unauthorized access.
